Good Girls Finish Last (Part II)

Good morning peeps. I am literally half asleep, since I went to bed at 5 a.m. and I'm at work now. Nanny barged into the room screaming: "It's nine turty, you hab work?" so I literally jumped out of bed because I had a 10 o'clock meeting. So washed up, got dressed had breakfast, a little make up on, (I looked like a zombie) and it's almost 11 and the guy hasn't showed up! *sigh* The Lebanese. Anyway, last night my friend (I'll call her, C.F.F) slept over so we were up all night laughing and talking and laughing more and talking more and I realized I love sleepovers. They're so much fun! This coming from an almost 26 year old? Sad? I think not!
So as per yesterday's post I decided to blog about Part II today so that the conversations the girls and I had over coffee on Sunday were still fresh in my head. We were around 8 girls, and it was random friends, more than meeting up with your very own clique. SO out of the 8; 2 or 3 were in a relationship, none were engaged or married and the rest? SINGLE! And then we started counting the number of single friends we have, and oh my what a number that turned out to be. But anyway, we're all facing the same problem, there are no men. Fine we're being picky, but I think we have every right to be picky, if any of us were to go out with every Tom, Dick and Harry that comes along, we'd be considered sluts, and that is the easiest label a girl can get in this country. So, be picky I say, not too picky, give chances, but to potentials, not just any guy that would wink at you along the way. So after lots of bouncing back and forth and loud arguments and teary laughter, we realized, the sluts always go first, and good girls finish last! What is that all about? Guys talk about the woman of their dreams.. standards.. mother of their child.. and what have you.. and who do they end up being with? Exactly. The girl with the skimpiest outfit, fakest face, and I can't really say lowest IQs, because let's face it, they're getting the good ones and we're stuck with the leftovers, so they've gotta be smart to be able to do that! And we also realized, most of these girls work on getting their man. Showing up at his hangouts, trying to get his friends to like her (because that's always the deal-sealer), phone calls, messages, do the things he likes etc.. etc.. and that's how they reel him in. So how do we compete with that? We don't.. Why? Because we were raised as 'ladies' and 'ladies' never throw themselves at men!
Bottom line, go out with someone you'd be proud to have at your side, not because they look good, have a tight ass, or barbie looks (or Ken..), but because that person will make an effort to make you happy, because that person is the image you want to take home to your parents, because that person is someone who would make your friends feel at home, would wake up in the middle of the night to change the babies' diapers, because that person gives you a sense of security etc etc... Yes yes I'm a hopeless romantic! Leave me alone!
