Hello hello hello! I know I know I've been gone for too long but I promise, no trips out of town anytime soon (I'm hoping otherwise though). So, what's on everyone's mind the past week? Besides the whole Rielle Hunter and John Edwards scandal? Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce's new video. Not a video per say, more like a colourful short film.
If you guys haven't seen it yet,
here it is.
The highly awaited video premiere raised so much controversy that CNN claimed MTV banned the video for it's graphic and explicit content. Wasn't true by the way, MTV aired it an hour after it's official premiere on E! But it's

doesn't get aired prime time! For obvious reasons. Anyhoo, what did I think of the video? It was outrageous. The outfits are edgy, bizarre and down-right fabulous. The Striped outfit she had on

at the beginning with the strong shoulder pads was stunning! Definitely wearable, alongside the black and white outfit she had on after she was bailed out. I loved the 'latshe' in the beginning about her not having male genitalia after she was thrown into the slammer with a very blurred
area The song is definitely worth the praise. The patriotic outfits?

Didn't get it. At first Beyonce looked like Wonder Woman and thought hmm.. Maybe.. But what about Gaga? The scenes didn't quite mesh well. There were a lot of question marks, for example the scene where she's covered in yellow tape,

but then again Gaga did say that it doesn't matter if the scenes make no sense, when she has a vision of something she just knows she has to get it done, so that anwers a lot of questions, I guess?

I suppose. The cigarette burning sunglasses were definitely an added kink, even though at a certain point watching the cigarettes burn so close to her face, suffocated me.. I felt like I couldn't breathe. And her hair rolled up in pop cans, was hilarious. She had the madonna thing going on, when Madonne first started, only this one is more provokative. I didn't get the point of the kissing scene. Couldn't even tell if that was a man, a woman or a transsexual! But it wouldn't make sense if it were a man, since it's an all woman's prison, and why kiss a woman?

She's already gotten the whole world roaring at the entire video. Kissing a woman won't change much, unless she's trying to tell us something

.. hmmmm. It's these little things that didn't really work well together for me. After the whole jail scene, and dancing around with a beautiful studded leather jacket that she takes off to reveal a very fragile and extra thin body in a matching studded leather bra and a pair of very skimpy undies. My descriptions of the scenes are quite random and not in order, but they're the first half of the video, the second half is all about her an
Honey B (Beyonce) as the Kill Bill homage starts with the two poisoning everyone at the diner and flee in the Pussy Wagon. I was in love with Gaga and Beyonce's outfits that recreated from Uma Thurman and Daryll Hannah's parts in Kill Bill and transformed to be

Gaga and Beyonce suitable! Gaga's "eye patch" was an

extension of her hair that looked like a telephone covering her eye and the phone cord as the strap. I thought that was ingenious.

I didn't get the food dance, but again a weird kink, the blue telephone hat and the scenes of beyonce in the bedroom with her incredible blue outfit, made no sense to me, but

she looks really good. Most of the outfits just scream Alex McQ *tear* but I'm not sure if he's the genius behind them.
So all in all, I had mixed feelings about it and about Lady G. The video is very pop artsy and to for those who are fans of pop culture, I think this takes the prize, it's very colourful, a feast for the eyes and looks very costly.. but that's ok, because the not-so-subtle products that occasionally pop up definitely covered the costs of making this video.
